Untitled
Exhibition
Within this piece "Untitled" I wanted to reflect the emotions of one self within the piece itself create a connection between people. We are insignificant to a multitude of people but we will always mean something to those close around us. Especially our selves and we need to stop and remember that sometimes.

Inspiration
For this Piece I liked the tree and how it almost feel illuminated from the top with the highlight from the sky and I wanted to highlight that within my piece I like all of the symbolism with in the piece the deeper meaning and was truly inspired.

I was really inspired by the Korean artist Kwon Hyuck (Dean) and his music. I used him as the main figure in my piece I really like this particular photo because of the coat and the bare background.
I liked this particular song called Instagram. Sometimes we forget to appreciate the beauty we have in nature social media makes people ill. Lyrics It’s complicated Changing it up so often I don’t wanna do this This damn information age There is definitely a problem These days, knowing more Makes you more miserable |
I really liked the way that Odilon Redon manipulate the viewers when they looked at the piece I really enjoy the sky and butterflies those are some of the major components that I wanted to add to my piece

Planning Sketches
Process
For the overall processes I went at it as I do with most of my pieces I begin to block in all colors before going back in to fill detail and to clean up the piece as a whole something that I struggled with the most was the sky and the foreground. Those points of the piece took me the longest to paint and I paid most attention to those areas as I painted.
Experimentation
As I mentioned within my inspiration I used multiple elements from two pieces by Odilon Redon I really enjoyed the sky and the fore grounds in both of these pieces along with composition
Reflection
Overall I am very satisfied with the overall outcome of this piece I enjoyed combining techniques and elements from the artist along with my own style. I struggled a lot with blending and making sure that the piece came out neat. If I were to do this again I would make sure to spend more time with color experimenting also with maybe a different media such as oils.
Connection to ACT
Clearly explain how you are able to identify the cause-effect relationships between your inspiration and it's effect upon your artwork?
Both my piece and the work of Odilion were meant to make others aware to invoke feeling. Odilion created the collection How the Other Half Lives for a reason and in that I feel I made this piece with the intention to reach people widely.
What is the overall approach the author has regarding the topic of your inspiration?
The research is from art history sophomore year only went so far into these photographers. So upon further research I was able to learn more about how and why he began to do what he did.The way he did it.
What kind of generalizations and conclusions have you discovered about people, ideas, culture, etc. While you researched your inspiration?
I have learned that many people especially today take things for granted and sort of sweep the problems we face under the rug. So I feel that instilling realization and awareness is important for artists of any generation.
What is the central idea and theme around your inspirational research?
I researched many photographers and I think that both Eugéne and Jacob really stood out to me as far as what I wanted to accomplish with this piece. I intended to use Hispanic photographers like Enrique Metinides who photographed the real true horrors of crime during his time but I felt that I did not want my piece to come off as dark.
What kind of inferences did you make while reading your research?
I inferred that anyone can make a difference through creating something that they feel passionate towards and that with enough will power it can make a difference.
